Flight cancellations and notifications
In January 2020 I booked flights for Easter weekend (Jhb - CT return). These were understandably cancelled due to Covid-19 and vouchers were issued. I re-booked the flights for August 2020 using the vouchers. These new flights were cancelled in June and new vouchers were again issued. I again booked new flights for August 2020 (3rd time), after which I received a 3rd cancellation message. In my frustration I did not take note of the cancellation reference numbers and tried to contact FLYSAFAIR. There Call Centre was not operational due to Covid-19 and they directed me to their email address (***). I emailed them immediately requesting clarification on why they keep allowing me to book flights but then continue to cancel them. This was a complete waste of time as no one has bothered to make contact with me. As mentioned above, I did not take note of the latest cancellation reference numbers as they message was sent after my 3rd and final bookings. August came and suddenly I was requested to check in. Believing that my flights were cancelled, I checked the cancellation message only to notice that they referred to the 2nd booking. Now why would SAFAIR send me a cancellation message after I booked new flights that refer to old flights? More frustrating is the fact that I have tried to contact them on multiple occasions via their call centre and email. The poor processes and frustration has cost me R7 760 and this was my first and last time dealing with them
