False advertising

I booked a First Car rental on the FlySafair website as an add-on to my flight booking. Chose a package that includes 200km for a certain fee, but this was not what I got from the car rental company on the day, who claim that FlySafair are not able to advertise the 200km option, only the 100km package.

I feel very misled and disappointed and both companies point at each other, although First Car rental says they have a lot of complaints about this issue.

The FlySafair Customer care agent, Kerry-Anne Van Zyl, simply states "Kindly note that the first car rental on the Flysafair page is as per first car rental. we do not have any rights to alt the costs or the liability of the car rental."

The fact of the matter is that the car hire package was advertised as including 200km on the FlySafair site, whether they had the right to do this is not my concern. It is misleading advertising to entice customers to go through them for a better deal, which doesn't materialise.

I cannot get back to the website's car hire add-on without booking another ticket and apparently (according to First Car) the details have anyway been changed since I booked on 23rd August.

Basically I need to warn other customers to read the fine print carefully and check that they get what they have asked for, FlySafair are out to catch you!
