DO NOT USE THIS AIRLINE!

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVCIE, REFUSAL TO ASSIST IN ANY CAPACITY.

I am extremely disappointed with the way FlySafair handled a recent attempt to change my booking. I tried to move my return flight from East London to Cape Town, and I was shocked to see that not only would I be charged a R300 change fee, but the airline also refuses to refund or credit the fare difference when the new fare is cheaper.

My original ticket cost around R1,500, and the new fare is roughly R1,100. Instead of receiving the difference back, I’m forced to pay a R300 penalty and lose out on about R400–R500 of fare difference. In total, FlySafair pockets almost R800 from me for a simple date change made four weeks in advance. This is outrageous.

What frustrates me even more is the blatant double standard in FlySafair’s policy:

If the new fare is more expensive, I must pay the difference plus the R300 change fee.

But if the new fare is cheaper, FlySafair keeps the difference.

How is this fair? It feels like pure exploitation. This one-sided policy benefits the airline at the customer’s expense, and it leaves a very bitter taste.
