Disappointed

Don't try and FlySafair if you don't have a valid driver's license. I was refused boarding today because my drivers license has expired. I tried to explain to the staff that I just want to be a passenger, I have no intention of ‘driving’ the plane, but to no avail. They are seemingly blissfully unaware of the difficulty South Africans are having with renewing their drivers licenses. They gave me some excuse about ACSA, even though I was flying from Lanseria, which is not an ACSA airport. I was refused boarding and marked as a no show. I lost thousands of rands, not only in airfare, but all my other travel arrangements too. Be sure to click every button on their website to find all there hidden little booking conditions or you might be in the same situation. They might just refuse you boarding for not wearing a hat. When I asked them why they don't have any more prominent warning about this they said it doesn't happen often enough. I will be sure never to try and drive/fly Safair again.
