Destroyed Fragile Luggage Contents

We took a printer from Cape Town International Airport onboard in a hand luggage suitcase to Lanseria Airport without an issue. When flying back down to CT though, we were told it could not be taken on as hand luggage and had to be checked in for an additional R250. It had be taken to the fragile luggage counter and checked in there. On unpacking the (very well wrapped) printer at home we discovered it had been completely destroyed. This despite having a fragile sticker in place on the bag and the additional unnecessary check in costs (a regulation that seems to differ from one airport to another or possibly one Flysafair employee to the next). Of course Flysafair take no responsibility for the damage whatsoever and also seem to not be able to explain why the regulation differed from Lanseria to CT Int, other than to say the one airport is bigger than the other…. “Noooooo, really??” Disgusting treatment and complete lack of ownership for obvious bombastic neglect. Must be nice to have such a monopoly amongst local airlines.
