Bad experience with FlySafair

Extremely disappointed with #FlySafair. My children were travelling to Zanzibar for their honeymoon – their very first international trip together. What should have been an exciting and special start to their honeymoon turned into tears at the airport. My daughter didn’t realise that liquids in hand luggage may not exceed 100ml. She quickly ran to a nearby shop to leave the item and came back to the boarding gate at 08:49. The flight departure time was 09:00. Despite still being there before departure time, the gate staff refused to allow them to board. Their luggage then had to be removed from the aircraft. What makes this even more upsetting is that the time spent removing their bags from the plane could just as easily have been used to allow them to board. Instead, two newlyweds were left standing at the airport in tears at the start of their honeymoon. We had no choice but to book another airline at an additional cost of about R13,000. We understand that airlines have rules, but surely there should also be room for a little understanding and compassion. We would really appreciate FlySafair explaining how passengers who arrived before departure time could still be refused boarding, and whether this is truly the level of customer care travellers can expect. I recommend that you rather use alternative airlines before you book at FlySafair @FlySafair #FlySafair #CustomerServices #TravelExperience
