Baby car seat lost
According to the flysafair website "At FlySafair, your safety has always been our primary concern." https://www.flysafair.co.za/covid-19. And so it should be. However our recent experience with flysafair to resolve a claim for a lost baby car seat do not hold true to this (above) core statement regarding safety concerns.
We we blessed to welcome a baby daughter into our family on the 16Feb 2021. We we further blessed by family visiting and bringing us a baby car seat with which we could travel with our bundle of joy. However, on a flysafair flight down from Joberg to East London the car seat being brought for us was lost/****** after it was checked in. Upon arrival in East London it was discovered that car seat did not make the flight and we submited lost luggage claim. This happened on the 1st March and is yet to be settled 38 days later...
Not only are baby car seat costly but they are a mandatory legal requirement. According to the regulations of the National Road Traffic Act states that all children under the age of three years will have to be strapped into a car seat when travelling in a car.
Correspondence with flysafair has been very vague with statements like "the claim has been escalated to management" and "we will contact you shortly". Still on feedback and no car seat found.
Please flysafair, be fair and replace this piece of safety equipment which was lost or ****** on your watch.
Claim reference number ELS FA 11253
