Our flight was scheduled for departure at 05:50. we arrived at the airport exactly 35 minutes before check in was closed. When we arrived, we found the queue so long and it moved at a snail's pace towards the desk. We eventually arrived at the desk, Desk 110 and we were unceremoniously directed to desk 114 with no explanation whatsoever where a young lady then informed us that "we had missed our flight" and that we'd have to go to the ticket sales to pay more money to get on a later flight. All of this was just given to my mother and I in clipped tones and then she got up and walked over her colleague to discuss her weekend plans. On arrival at the ticket sales desk, the young lady then informed us that we would have to pay an extra R600 to guarantee us seats on the next available flight. This is appalling because I witnessed the queue moving so slow that there was no way we could have checked in anyway. Poor service. To add insult to injury, we then overhead a manager telling another colleague of hers that our initial flight had actually left with minimal passengers on board. This is shocking because we paid extra for a later flight, we're late for an engagement and we also received bad service. Is this what FlySaFair does? Intentionally slow their service down to cover their running costs by making passengers pay extra?
