****ty, arrogant airline

Update as of today 12th August 2024.

Message to Cemair.

Good day

Could I kindly get feedback on this refund please.

ETA please.

I'm not sure how your agent made a mistake and I have to comply to 21 days waiting time for a full refund, plus no apology from anyone.

You want me to go back to that flight desk and cause a ruckus?

Please acknowledge and respond. If I don't receive one by end of the day as to ETA, details thereof and fact that the refund has been processed I'm going to go further.

I'll make sure Cemair goes back to where they come from and that is nowhere.

Useless airline. You need to admit your mistake from one of your employees. What has happened internally with the lady misrepresenting herself as a supervisor, the oversight made and how it occurred in the first place, and why am I paying for this mistake in money and time.

You guys have no idea how far I can push the envelope on things like this, it is called *****, and seemingly this is what was happening at Or Tambo.

Get back to me.

This is rather urgent, I require assistance in this regard.

Yesterday I arrived at the O.R Tambo international airport, inquiring each airlines tickets sales counter's if they had any tickets available for a flight to port Elizabeth for the day, being 05 December 2024. All had been sold out for the day except Cemair, which had an available flight for 06th December 2024. The price quoted R1831.19, leaving at 05:55am, 06th December 2024.

This interaction took place at 12:15 mid-day. I then told the consultant Babaloa that I need to check with flysafair as well as airlink and should I not be successful I would return to her counter.

Failing to obtain any flights from any of the above-mentioned airlines, I proceeded to return to the Cemair counter to purchase the above-mentioned ticket for the 06th December 2024. I proceeded to make payment via debit card@12:37pm and received all the relevant paperwork and receipt and left to get something to eat in the airports food hall.

@12:51pm, I received a call from the Cemair consultant Babaloa, requesting if I could return to her counter, as she stated they were no outgoing flights between Johannesburg and port Elizabeth, and that she had made a mistake, I should return to her counter for a refund.

@12:58 pm I reached the Cemair ticket desk, and was referred to a supervisor who's name still eludes me even after asking for the name, regarding a full refund, as the mistake or false information which lead to the return and purchase of the ticket was on their side. She proceeded to state that I would have to wait seven business days for a refund, to which I responded to that that is not acceptable. She said she would call someone higher up and come back to me, I should wait a bit.

She then returned and told me they would do a refund and that was it, no details, estimated time of turnaround nothing. So I proceeded to inquire I'm pleased with this and would it be a full refund as this is not my fault or error. She then stated she would be back she needs to confirm via phone. She then returned and said that yes they would refund me in full. So I requested paperwork to back this up, she said I should wait they will give me something in writing. I waited until about 13:20 before I said I need to make alternative arrangements to get back home, as I am due for work today 06th December 2024. The initial consultant, Babaloa gave me my original paperwork as reference and stated they have my email address and particulars and they would be in touch with me, I agreed.

I then returned to the food court, ate my meal and proceeded to the exit point of the airport to book A bus ticket back home as there were no available tickets to port Elizabeth, with the first available being only Saturday, 07th December 2024, which wasn't accommodating to my route and planning.

At 14:25 I received another call from Cemair ticket sales desk asking me if I'd like them to book an alternative flight or if would take the flight available to pe for the 7th December or still a refund. I stated no I've already made alternative arrangements of travel as I was on a time constraint and had left the airport and could not return to their counter on several occasions. The consultant then stated again that they had found an alternative flight with another airline however they can book it for me, however would need to pay the difference between the R1831.19 I had paid for the mistaken ticket purchased at their ticket sales desk and the cost the alternative air carriers ticket, and that the flight was for 6am. I again told the lady I have already left the airport and would not be returning as mentioned in reference above regarding alternative arrangements.

This morning I noticed as received via my email a ticket booked for the 07th December, no communication regarding the refund etc.

I then proceeded to make contact with Babaloa and she stated she is off, this requested her supervisor to call me and the contact details and name of her supervisor. She said that she was off duty but the supervisor would call me.

I need assistance in this regard.

Why was another ticket booked for myself for tomorrow, 07th December, and if so on who's authority?

I was asked for me email to allow for communication regarding the refund, untill now no calls emails or the supervisors details?

I also tried to confirm that as result of their mistake they wouldn't charge me for a refund admin fee of R250 or 25% per person per fair for refunds as per Cemair s refund policy, no response.

Why have I not been handed any feedback on my full refund?

Why have I not received any calls or any forms of communication thus far from anyone at Cemair?

I did not book my own ticket on the wrong date in any case this would be impossible.

Now I have a booked ticket on my particulars which I did not book. Seems that they do not want to refund me, especially when the employees are behaving oddly.

What can I do to get my full refund of R1831.19 as promised and confirmed?

The fact that I am not in Johannesburg at OR Tambo as this is not my primary city of residence, it seems as if the priority to remedy the matter is not important as involves a consumers money.

My ticket reference was as per below: no dates no details nothing, just flight number, departure time and arrival time.

Below is the booked ticket dated for tomorrow the 7th which I didn't book. I said on the notification that these details are incorrect, however nothing happened.

I want my refund to the cent, and I do feel I have been ******, as the behaviour and lengthy back and forth between yesterday and today is very suspicious. I requested for some paperwork earlier this morning to confirm the full refund, and confirmed my email address once more, nothing received. This is highly ********* and very *****. Definitely would not ever purchase a ticket from Cemair ever again.

I will await feedback from Cemair before close of business today to which if not I would need to take remedial action.

Please help all.

Kindest regards,

Sebastian Pillay ***
