Cancelled return trip 42 days waiting for money

We booked for my son to fly to Harare through Fly Africa. The ingoing flight was cancelled twice, via email -which we only noticed the second time after already arriving at the airport. His returning flight has now been cancelled indefinitely. They said that the refund for our money would take 42 days. I phoned to try and sort the refund issue out as I need the money to get my son home. They refused to put me through to someone from the financing who could clarify the issue for me. I am extremely unhappy and find this utterly unprofessional.
