Zodiac Warranty means nothing!

I bought a MX8 zodiac pool cleaner in September 2015 at Checkers Warehouse in Vanderbijlpark. After using the pool cleaner for 6 months it stopped working. It now only moves in a circle, after having a look , it look as if one of the gearboxes on the unit has failed. <br> The problem I now have is that the cash slip form Checkers has faded to a blank Till slip. The local agents for Zodiac will only repair the unit If I can supply a proof of purchase. The unit has not even discoloured so they can see that it is a new item. When contacting Zodiac with the serial number MX*** I was told that they delivered the item to the store in July 2013 so the item is no longer under warranty. Now should this be my problem if the item was in their store for this extended period.<br> I can not believe you pay this for a pool cleaner and it only lasts for 6 months, I have in the past bought pool cleaners from the competition for less than half the price and guess what, It is still working after 5 years.<br> <br>
