Useless
Through a long conversation with a customer care agent asking for advice on marks left by the Pacer pool cleaner on my newly installed pool, and stating that: "...I am sure Zodiac / Barracuda is and will remain a reputable company and will not shy away from correcting something that is their fault. I also firmly believe that Zodiac will and can provide me with good, solid advice on possible solutions to my problem. I humbly ask – please advise!"
I only got a reply stating that the finned disk may be adversely affected by the imbalance of chemicals in my pool water that created the marks. and then I received a fact sheet about chemicals and their effects on the finned disk. Needless to say, the finned disk is in perfect condition.
Further conversations lead to Zodiac confirming (by looking at photos of the foot pad and the marks in my pool) that it is definitely incorrect water chemistry. So, Ms. Customer Care Agent,
I will therefore only tell you that:
“confirms” means to establish the truth or correctness of (something previously believed or suspected to be the case).
I put it to you that you have not proved anything, nor did you establish the truth or correctness of your statement, you can only suspect that it is the imbalance / incorrect water chemistry. In fact, neither you nor Albert Einstein can confirm incorrect water chemistry by looking at the photos.
I was then instructed to test the pool water at Builders Warehouse? Seriously? They are not an accredited laboratory and do not specialise in water chemistry leaving their results useless and without proving your statement… I can (if so inclined) take any water to test (or even buy a bottle of water at builders to test) and send you the results. I cannot believe that you would even suggest this route to just tell me that your warrantee does not cover whatever the problem is. And, from my previous correspondence: “…But let me help you to not reply with another generic “…it is not our fault, and the warranty does not cover that…” reply:…” – again, you did not read or understood my plea, and you simply rep**** as I pleaded you not to do!
I suddenly come to realise that I am wasting my time writing this reply, because your reply would most probably be meagre with another mouth full of ****amamie ideas to stall and revert to the useless warranty and with no technical solution, whereas al I wanted was some indication to a solution of my problem. Instead, you rambled off nonsensical generic nonsense. I did not accuse your product of anything, I just wanted a solution to my problem. Now, after the generic replies from the customer care agent, I am inclined to believe that this happens more often than not. I am truly appalled! Further to your job description / title as customer care agent: Extracted from a simple internet search… “Customer care is when companies treat their customers with respect and kindness and build an emotional connection with them.” This you duly failed by creating a dysfunctional and toxic emotional connection between Zodiac and me - not that you care.
