Awful experience

Our experience with Floors Direct has been truly awful. A job that was supposed to take 3 days has taken 3.5 months and is still not complete and has cost us extra due to their error. On the first day they poured a screed. They didn't measure properly, so once the screed had been laid, the floors we had purchased no longer fit under our shutters and our doors. Floors Direct refused to chip it out and said we must get the shutter people to fix it by moving the shutters. We did this, but then Floors Direct refused to cover the cost of this even though the reason we needed to move the shutters was directly their fault. They said they would plane the doors free of charge. That is not acceptable as the doors needed to be planed as a result of them laying a screed that was incorrect! Once the shutters were complete it took them weeks to schedule us in again and could not complete as they didn't bring the planer and didn't have sufficient items to complete the project, so we had to schedule another day which then took ages for them to schedule us in again. They arrived late to this appointment (they arrive late every single time they are scheduled to arrive which is completely unacceptable and never apologise for it) and due to it being late on a Friday afternoon tried to rush through so they could go home. They again did not complete the project and did damage to our bathroom tiles and the doors as they were rushing to try and finish. They also didn't have one piece of wood to finish, so they said they would reschedule. Then, Floors Direct had the cheek to accuse us of 'hiding' the missing piece of wood so they couldn't complete, which is completely unacceptable and unreasonable as we just want the job complete and what on earth would we do with this piece of wood??? . We responded to say that we had never seen this piece and that they need to come and complete the project and the snag list. To date, they have still not scheduled us in. All want from Floors Direct is to refund us the amount that is due to us that we had to pay the Shutter people for Floors Directs mistake and to complete the project, We will not be recommending them to anyone nor will we use them again.
