Dishonest - Refusal to honour In-Store quote

We visited the Paarden Eiland store and requested a quote for a wall-to-wall carpet including the fitting the fitting their of.

Now we understand that there could have been discrepancies with our measurements and our counting of the number of doorways; hence the need for a site visit. The site visit confirmed our measurements and counting as correct and we were only expecting a minor adjustment to the quote for extras like a cover strip by the door, etc. We were re-assured by the sales assistant that this would be case given that our measuring was correct which it was.

With this understanding we subsequently rejected what emerged to be a better quote.

Post the site visit the quote from the sales assistant increased by 23%, far exceeding the best quote we received.

They refuse to honour their in-store quote let alone acknowledge or apologise for their mistakes. I have emailed the store manager but it seems my correspondence has been ignored. This was one horrible customer experience.
