Laminated flooring: 3 rooms, 3 different problems.
Installations were done inadequately in 3 different rooms(new installers) since April 2018. Room 1: Floor was laid with absolutely no definite pattern. The consultant indicated that it could not be redone unless I was prepared to carry the cost. The manager visited the site and had to admit finally to poor workmanship. They installed the floor then free of charge. I had to ask numerous times and waited a month to be reimbursed for 2 boxes that were quoted for, but not used during the installation. Room 2/entrance hall: Tiles tented in the sitting room and the consultant did a quote after visiting the premises. It was a large area that lifted and a substantial part of the floor was visible. According to the consultant, no screeding of the floor would be necessary and a quote was emailed, not including the possibility of screeding, which I accepted. When the manager came to inspect floor 1, he saw floor 2 and thought that screeding would possibly be required. The rest of the tiles were not lifted at that stage. I had the tiles lifted and where there were unevenness, it was leveled. When the new installer came to redo floor 1, he agreed to do partial screeding(at no cost as I was not quoted on this originally) which he indicated would be adequate. It was a large area and there is today absolutely nothing wrong with that part of the floor. The entrance hall however, one of the boards is cracking. The edging between 2 rooms are loose and the floor is just sinking at the edging. The entrance hall was partially screeded properly and it cannot be the reason for the problem that I am experiencing. A gaping hole was left at the top of the stairs, and when asked about it on the day the partial screeding was done, the installer recommended that he fill it with glue when he does the installation, which was not done. After waiting since 2 August for a response, I received an email on 25 August, recommending that the entire floor be lifted and screeded at my expense. This is the manager's solution who did not come to inspect the real issues. Again, I had to requests several times to be reimbursed for a box that was not used. Floor 3: got water damage when the geyser was fixed and after a quote was again worked out incorrectly(wrong boards) and the floor was 'fixed', it still shows signs of water damage. This has not even been dealt with. As a result, I'm getting in another installer to do the work as I feel at this stage that they are completely unreliable and I'm being punished for their incompetency. I had work done by this company last year and did not experience this terrible service, but after trying to resolve matters for 6 months, they surely cannot be recommended.
