Upper Highway Flooring Retail Distributor

I don't take any great satisfaction from berating company's in the public forum, but what do you do when they ignore you and don't show any interest in managing the conflict, and then I'm tired of the constant apathy that we as South Africans are subjected to in normal society and poor customer experiences.

The story goes: I purchased flooring from a fairly prominent flooring retail company in the upper highway that has been in existence for as long as I can remember. This was my 1st acquisition from them for the new vinyl flooring Wanabiwood range and will in all likelihood be the last such has been their extremely poor effort to resolve the matter.

After a little over 12 months, I began to notice that there was an issue that was presenting in my bedroom where I laid it (It was laid in all my bedrooms, but initially presented in the main). I reported it to them and my installer in April of this year with them only attending to it 3 months later which meant the issue that had initially presented deteriorated further.

The long and the short of it is that their supplier got involved and highlighted a few shortcomings from the installation which a mere layman like myself does not completely comprehend and the issues that have been raised after the fact were not mentioned prior or materials were not supp**** beforehand.

So if the issues are a consequence of a lack of material supp****, why is this any other parties fault other than the retail provider to the end-user? Seems straight forward doesn't it...then why is this store not owning up or taking responsibility? I have proposed a meeting on site with all role players to come to a solution, yet no response has been forthcoming. Surely, in the interests of managing any reputational damage and disgruntled customers this is not too much to ask!

If only I knew at the time of acquisition how they managed issues when customers had legitimate complaints my decision to purchase from this store would have been different. I hope no one else suffers the same fate...
