Urgent Billing Error and Poor Customer Service

I am writing to formally raise a serious concern regarding a billing error on my credit card and the lack of customer support I've encountered.

Instead of debiting the agreed-upon installment amount, your system incorrectly charged the full outstanding balance. The first installment (1 of 4) was successfully debited on the day of purchase. However, on the date of the second installment—taken earlier than scheduled—the full remaining amount (covering installments 2, 3, and 4) was debited in one go.

This is completely unacceptable and not in line with the terms of our agreement.

To make matters worse, I have tried calling your support line multiple times with no success, and my emails have gone unanswered. This lack of response is extremely disappointing and reflects poorly on your service, especially when compared to your competitors.

I expect an immediate resolution, including a reversal of the incorrect charges and confirmation that the installment plan will proceed as originally agreed. The most useless pathetic use of service compared to their competitors. Definitely never using them again. My advice to anyone else would be to stay away from using their services.

Hi Blaine,

We're sorry for the frustration this has caused. Let us clarify how Float manages payments and reserves to reassure you.

At the time of purchase, the full purchase amount will be reserved on your credit card, but only the first interest-free instalment will be charged. The remaining instalments are charged on the same day each month. As you pay each monthly instalment, the amount reserved will reduce to the remaining balance of the purchase until your purchase is fully paid.

Because credit card reserves expire every few weeks, Float renews the reserve in between each instalment, not on the instalment date. You will receive reminders from 7 days before the reserve renewal date. This ensures you don’t overspend on your card and helps you to meet your instalment repayments.

We can assure you that your plan is running according to schedule.

We can confirm that your emails have been responded too and will continue to do so until you have clarity around your account.

Please feel free to reach out to us should you have any additionally concerns on ***.

Regards,
The Float Team

Best regards,
