Incompetence Customer service from float paylater
<div>on the 26 October 2024 I went to purchase the couches from the couches store called zorora. When i got that i chose my couches and I was introduced to FLOAT PAYLATER the lady at Zorora, explained how it works she said make sure you have sufficient amount in you credit card of which i had about R24 0000 and my couches were R23 0000 she said register and join float the process is they have four consecutive instalments meaning from your credit card they will take R5800 right now immediately and on the 26 of every month they will take R5800 from your credit card until your finish your instalments.I was happy with that arrangement because I have payflex and it is working wonders. My believe is that it will exactly like payflex i get home i check my credit card balance they took R22 950 from my credit card minus the first instalment which is R 5737.50 and then they still holding on to my credit limit of R17212.50 meaning i cannot access my funds until they take the whole R22950 in four months instalments that should end in January.I contact them and spoke to a lady called Myra Basson who informed me they will hold on to my funds until the full payment is made to them. I was very disturbed by this new information because at the store I was never told that. I asked them to relase my credit card and take the whole amount I owe them which they did not do my bank later release the R17 212.50 which i now kept the R 5737.50 for the next float instalment on the 26 November 2024.This morning i get the following message .....We were unable to renew the reserve for the outstanding balance of R 17,212.50 from credit card **** **** **** 3015 (07/29). We will reattempt to renew this reserve on your card within 2 day(s). Please ensure that you have a valid credit card with sufficient balance linked to your instalment plan to keep your plan active. If the current reserve still appears as "pending" or "uncleared" in your account, don't worry. It will be automatically released by your bank, but can take up to a few days or more to reflect in your account. If we are unable to renew the reserve, we will collect the outstanding balance of R 17,212.50 from your card. I called again asking why they would want to take R17212.50 from my credit card when the instalment is only R5737.50 which i currently do not have R17 212.50 in my credit card but R10 000 i was informed unfortunately there is nothing they can do they are going to take R17212.50 and leave my credit card on overdraft that leaves me with what poor credit record. All asked is can they take R5735.50 on the 26 November 2024 and the remaining R R11471.10 I can pay on the 15 December 2024 they are refusing right now I am traumatized and feel very uneasy with this process, and I am told there's nothing they can do its their process.</div>
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We understand how frustrating this experience has been for you, and we sincerely apologize for any confusion caused.
To clarify, at the time of purchase, Float reserves the full purchase amount on your credit card, but only the first installment is charged upfront. As you pay each monthly installment, the reserved amount reduces to reflect the remaining balance of your purchase until it is fully paid. This ensures your plan remains active.
We regret that you were misinformed at the store and understand how this miscommunication has impacted your experience.
While the reserved amount may be released by your bank, it is important and stated that shoppers must keep the lesser outstanding balance available on your credit card to ensure the next payment or reserve is successful.
We’ve tried reaching out to discuss this further and work towards a resolution but haven’t been able to get in touch. Please contact us at *** or respond to our call at your earliest convenience, and we’ll gladly assist you further.
Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding as we work to clarify and resolve this matter.

The Float Team
