For your peace of mind DO NOT USE FLOAT!!!
I placed an order online and used float as payment method. On the day I placed the order the whole transaction amount was reserved on my account. A day later while the reversal has not been release my account was charged again with the first installment. It has been more than 10 days and still that amount has not been release back to my account and the charge is also there chilling. I contacted my bank to request that they release the money. The bank said they cannot do it unless I get a letter from float confirming that it was nit a charge. I requested this from float and the agent I spoke to said they can't provide me with the information and I must wait 21 days.so what's the point then of using this float nonsense if they are going to take you from east to west when you need them to release the reversal. This is just so annoying. I am never going to use thjs service again.

We are sorry you feel you have had this experience with Float. We are happy to elaborate on some of the points raised in your review aside from our email conversations.
When you buy using Float, at the time of purchase, Float only charges you the first interest-free instalment. The remaining instalments are charged on the same day each month. Float helps you to manage your cashflow by only charging your credit card for a single interest-free instalment each month, as opposed to charging you the full amount up-front like a regular credit card transaction. In short – we buy you all the time in the world to settle your credit card balance. This is especially useful for those BIG value purchases.
In addition to your monthly instalment payments, at the time of purchase, the full outstanding amount is “reserved” (held) on your card to guarantee future payments. Reserves are placed in between each instalment and do not fall on the instalment date. You will receive reminders from 7 days before the reserve date. The reserved amount is generally released back into your account after 7 days, but can take longer, depending on your bank. However, we always recommend keeping the outstanding balance of your purchase available on your card throughout your instalment plan. Reserves can show as a 'pending transaction' on your account above the instalment charge. Reserves are not a charge and are completely interest-free.
As Float works with your existing credit, and doesn’t issue you new credit, the reserve helps us determine whether you have the full purchase amount available in your balance to make the purchase. In order for our service to remain completely interest-free and fee-free, we need to ensure that our shoppers can meet their repayment commitments for their purchases.
Hopefully this helped, but if you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to our team anytime via our email ***.
