Float = pointless

What is floats business model? Seriously - it's just using my credit card to make payments - not providing anything to me. Just basically used the money I have on my credit card so I have less to use anyway? We were trying to pay the item off in 3 payments so that the whole sum isn't taken at once - but happened anyway. won't be using this again, rather going to look at other options.
