False Advertising
I believe your site is misleading in its advertising. When the full amount is held on a consumer's credit card for more than 24 hours, effectively making those funds unavailable, how can you claim to be a "buy now, pay later" service?
From your responses, it seems you're more focused on technicalities, but the issue remains: consumers are having the full amount temporarily removed from their credit limits, leaving them unable to access those funds. The whole point of choosing a service like yours is to maintain access to that money. If consumers were comfortable with the full amount being reserved, they might as well have paid it upfront.
Additionally, your user experience is lacking, as there’s no option to update or change details easily. I saw your ads and expected a smooth, seamless product, but unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case. Wouldn't use again and from other's experiences it seems like it won't be smoothe when the other amounts need to come off.
Thank you for your review. We’re sorry to hear that your experience with Float wasn’t what you expected, and we completely understand your frustration.
To clarify, the core benefit of Float is that it allows you to make big purchases without being charged the full amount upfront, which gives you time to manage your credit card repayments instead of dipping into your cash. While we do reserve the full amount on your credit card, only the first interest-free instalment is charged, and the reserve reduces as you pay each instalment. This is designed to make your credit work better for you, offering flexibility that typical credit card purchases don’t.
We make sure to explain this process in detail in our "How it Works" pop-up, the instalment schedule at the time of purchase, follow-up emails, and on our website. The goal is to ensure that you can manage your finances easily without taking on any new credit or facing additional charges.
We understand your concerns about flexibility and user experience, we do have available the Shopper Portal on our website that allows you to view your statements, update your credit card and so forth.
We genuinely appreciate your feedback and would be happy to address any further concerns or updates you need help with. Please feel free to reach out to us directly on ***.

The Float Team
