Unacceptable service R8000 lost

My sister purshased a fight at Flight Centre Kenilworth Centre (Claremont) from CT to Dubai. On the morning of her flight she fell ill and was rushed to hospital for an emergency operation. I then called Flight Centre, spoke to a very abrupt lady called Tanja Benjamin. She then said that my Dad was there already to cancel the ticket. I then aksed her why could they not just change the date of the flight and she then said it was not allowed as it was a "cheap" ticket. My sister then sent me a copy of her ticket and it clearly states on the ticket "DATE CHANGES P/PERSON BEFORE DEPARTURE .......R2500"

I then called her back this morning and asked her about this clause on the ticket but only to hear her shouting at me as if I am an idiot. He exact words screaming " I got nothing to do with you and dont have to anwer to you".

I was completely shocked as I haved never experienced this before from a corporate company that deals with other companies and customers daily. It is even more bazaar that this lady Tanja Benjamin is the team leader or manager. Is this how she trains and leads her team as I could hear colleagues in the back ground? Is this really how Flight Centre treats their customers? I know that it has nothing to do with Emirates as I have booked and travelled directly with them before and they offer Top service on all levels. Maybe Emirates needs to know that an agency of them could possibly damage there brand as well.

To make the matter worse is that my sister has now lost R8000. This is not acceptable. I expect at least some reimbur*****t or some kind of assistance. Or is Flight Centre just all about the money???

I have never seen this behaviour from management before, besides management, any staff of any business.

My sister had to sell her car for this flight ticket as her husband is already in Dubai and she is moving there as well. She is now completely stressed out. Is this perhaps one of Flight Centres values to leave their customers in tears????

Shocked!!!!!!!
