Travel Expert NOT!!!

Long story:

My brother is moving to London Canada and starts at his new job on the 1st of June. As a birthday present: I requested quotes from Mosima Motlala for 27th May JHB - Dubai and the 31st Dubai - Toronto or JHB - Toronto on the 30th.

This was on 6 May. I got the cheapest direct flight with Emirates for R8226 and she got the cheapest split flight at R9680 but flying on the 28th. For the small difference in price, we decided to pay bit extra and visit Dubai. Our budget was R10 000 so it's OK.

On 8 May we paid and confirmed the flights. I requested tickets asap as I needed to make the rest of the travel arrangements accordingly. I declined the direct flight option from Dubai to Toronto, as I couldn't gamble on Emirates waiting list and needed confirmation asap. So after payment I could book the rest. I booked trains, shuttles, hotels, arrangements to drop him at the airport and pick up in Dubai, etc!

Today 12 May Mosima phones to let me know that the flight has a problem and my brother would need and American visa to stop over in Boston. (THANK GOODNESS she saw this before he landed there!!!) Good news is that she already has a backup flight flying on the 27th to Dubai and the 1st to Toronto. My brother is starting work in London on the 1st...! The earlier flights of the 27th is not a big issue. In the beginning I also explained to her that it is his 1st time out of RSA, so the less stop overs the better.

The rest of our emails are attached as I am forwarding it to you...

I phoned her REPEATEDLY on Friday, but she was conveniently unavailable the whole time. She only got back to me at closing time, promising she will revert back to me before lunch Saturday. Needless to say SHE DID NOT. I phoned 3 times leaving messages for her and on the last one I have to hear that she went home.... is this how she looks after her clients?!

Now I got an email stating I have to pay in R2040!! That's over my budget! I stressed the importance of finalising the flights on last Tuesday. Then she tells me that I ticked the T&C's when I booked!!! How do you check if it's a connecting flight or not?! Why would you (as a travel expert) book me through a country and let me get off if I don't have a visa?! Is it a trick question to push the blame on me?!

How long does it take for Mosima to book a flight?! I usually take 10min, but she takes 2-3 days!!! I phoned Saturday morning and only got confirmation on Wednesday!!!

How I regret phoning flight centre!!!!

FYI today the same flight that she is offering me now is selling for R7224....!!!! But i cannot book it as I cannot not get a hold of her and might loose the money I paid already!!!!

It is not my 1st time flying! Unfortunately your employee represents your business!!! I honestly hope that this email reaches somebody that cares about their customers!!!

I expect Mosima / flight centre to pay in the difference! The right thing to do would be to refund me and let my brother fly for free after a weeks struggle to get tickets! I would love it if a real "travel expert" would contact me!
