Layover in Dubai for 11 hours plus is unexceptable

We were assured by your agent that the stay over in Dubai will not exceed 4 hours in both directions. We have now discovered that the stay over on the return flight will be no less than 11 plus hours and that are unacceptable to us. We are not prepared to pay extra to make changes as we specified up front that we prefer not to stay over longer than four hours in either direction. We are 76 and 63 years old and traveling is not easy.
