If airlines cancels your flight you entitled to full refund
Dear Flight Centre, Stop misleading people to believe that they will not be refunded taxes if a flight is cancelled by the airlines.As per law if a flight is cancelled by a airline irrespective of what ticket you purchased you are entitled to a full refund.With this i received a reply on email saying that a ticket purchased has a non refundable tax of R1580 per ticket.Upon asking emirates they said i have an option of a full refund as they cancelled.Plus this mail was sent to me on 14th December and still no one has rep**** to my response.People flights were cancelled they don't want to move dates for variance reasons.So can i get someone who knows about flight cancellation refunds if airline cancelled to contact me.

Thank you for affording us the opportunity to look into your concerns pertaining to the refund policy set out by Emirates that is applicable to bookings affected by the recent suspension of flights to/from South Africa.
We reached out to the airline who confirmed that non-refundable taxes would unfortunately not be reimbursed should you choose to get a refund for your existing tickets. We are heavily reliant on our third party suppliers to advise re-accommodation policies and unfortunately, these are not always the same with each change to travel regulations.
