Flightcentre *****s your money and delays feedback
I am appalled at Flight Centre Cape Town - South Africa. I purchased Kulula flight tickets online on the 23 April 2022. Many of my friends used other providers, however I felt safe using Flight centre, little to my dismay, they have all been refunded for their tickets booked with Discovery for dates in August. Flight centre has not made contact with me as yet regarding an option for refund or at least re-accomodation, which I would gladly accept. I demand to be refunded The amount of R4702,42 with immediate effect. Why is it that other kulula/ba customers - who fall under the comair banner are refunded, but not Flightcentre customers. I am disgusted. My contact number is ***

Hi Bahejah,
I hope you are well
Apologies for any delays in our replies. Our team have been severely inundated with the sheer volume of queries that have come through as a result of the BA Comair/Kulula liquidation
Please note Kulula had initially advised, before they annouced the liquidation, that refunds can be requested from the airline by emailing the airline - which I have in copy
@Mncontact centre please confirm if you are still abel to process a refund on booking ref HRSGME for this passenger
Please note that when the airline announced they would be going into liquidation on 9 June they advised that any passengers with unflown tickets would need to become a creditor with the airline and its business rescue practioners to seek any refund amounts
A press release from the airline said that one of the BRPs, Richard Ferguson, said that with its two airline brands, British Airways (operated by Comair) and kulula.com, its market share, modern aircraft fleet, experienced employees, sales, and distributions channels Comair was an inherently viable business. “Unfortunately, though, despite their best efforts the BRPs had been unable to secure the capital required for the airline to recommence operations.”
Ferguson said that the company’s employees and customers who held bookings or were owed refunds will now become creditors of the Company - at this stage we are still awaiting information on how to do this from the airline and the Business Rescue Practioners
We will provide further information on the options available to affected customers as we get it, but at present the above is all we have received from the airline
Flight Centre is unfortunately not able to provide any refund from our side. When a booking is made on our website the funds are paid over to the airline to have the ticket issued, so when it comes to a refund on the ticket, this has to come from the airline.
We understand this news may cause much frustration. As a third-party travel re-seller we unfortunately have no control over the proceedings and processes that airlines may go through but we can assure you we will continue to provide you updated information and the necessary steps to follow as soon as we can
Any alternate travel that needs to be re-booked will need to be booked and paid for now. New bookings can be made via the Flight Centre Website: https://www.flightcentre.co.za/
Warm Regards,
Flight Centre Online Team

Please be advised, I enquired with flight centre on the 3 June 2022 regarding my kulula tickets and I was assured that my flights for August will go ahead.
I have proof of an email of this confirmation.
All my friends who booked with Comair and Discovery were able to process a refund, why is Flight Centre not doing the same? You people have taken our money and refuse to refund or re-accomodate US, this therefore means we have paid for goods/service for which we did not receive, which is unacceptable and *******.
I will be posting about this deceit and frustration that FLIGHTCENTRE is putting us through, all the while other providers have been refunded. I will also be lodging a dispute with my bank and with the Consumer Ombudsman Magauta Mphahlele, it is also ******* as withholding refunds is a violation of the CPA. The basic rule of the CPA is, If a supplier cannot deliver, they cannot charge. I will be writing and sharing this ******* with the Consumer Watchdog Georgina Crouth.
I demand to be REFUNDED or re-accomodated with another airline.
