Flight Centre not honouring their price beat rules

We had the worst experience trying to book a flight for my mother-in-law with Flight Centre Sandton. We reserved a ticket with one of their agents and they were going to call us back the next day to confirm and book the ticket. The next day no-one called us and hence we phoned them first thing the day after, only to be informed that the ticket was cancelled by the AGENT due to the fact that they couldn't get hold of us. Strangely my phone have no record of them ever calling or leaving a message. Also they didn't try to contact me via email to confirm they can cancel the reservation. They claim that the airline automatically cancelled the ticket, however the agent's colleague mentioned that SHE cancelled it, big difference. At the time when they were supposed to call me the best price we found was R1000 odd cheaper than the reservation they made and we wanted them to beat this price, as they claim they will always do.

When we called them to now make the booking the price of the ticket increased and also the price we had initially wasn't available, even though we had a copy of the price direct from the airline's website. They then refused to match the original ticket price after they never called us as agreed and hence costing us an additional R1000 odd instead of saving that.

Customer Service also doesn't believe that they are in the wrong here and it’s just tough luck for the customer. This is the kind of service you receive from them.
