Flexopower's replyOfficial
11 Aug 2021, 10:15Dear Ian. You purchased the Lithium444 portable power station from TJM Pretoria on 31. October 2018 (your information). Apparently TJM told you, the Li444 lasts 6-7 years. And now, almost 3 years later, you find yourself in a situation where the unit has no power. We did invite you to send us the unit back for inspection. The unit was inspected and found, that the battery has an unbalanced cell voltage. This suggests the cells have reached the end of their service life. We communicated with you at all times, except for when you were away on a 1 week holiday. - In summary, the unit has reached end of service life and needs to be replaced. This fact is not unique to Flexopower and is not a reflection of quality. Every battery, whether it is lead acid or Lithium, has a finite number of service cycles after which the product has to be replaced. In the case of the Lithium444 it is 500 cycles (lead acid batteries last less than 120 cycles). We really do understand your frustration, as your expectations were 6-7 years (what the dealer told you) and not the 500 cycles.
Best regards,
