Terrible service, Just a money grabbing scheme.
Worst customer service I have ever seen. Its a nightmare to even cancel their services; the consultants are very rude. Additionally, their scheme is not even accepted by some of their listed network doctors; you still have to pay. I wouldn't greet these people with a stick, let alone ever trust them with my or my family's health and wellbeing. If you want professional or good service, do not even try them.

05 May 2025, 10:03 Following up on this – despite your response and my official policy cancellation effective 28 February 2025, Discovery Flexicare has continued to debit my account monthly (March, April, and May). Each time I blocked the debit, your system changed the reference number to bypass my bank's stop order. All debits have since been reversed by my bank, but the fact remains: I was charged for a cancelled service, and I am still not removed from your billing system. I have now:
This clearly demonstrates a pattern of ********* and potentially *****ulent billing practices. You had the opportunity to resolve this when I first complained. Instead, the situation got worse.
- Lodged a complaint with the Ombudsman for Short-term Insurance (OSTI)
- Reported this to Nedbank’s ***** division
This clearly demonstrates a pattern of ********* and potentially *****ulent billing practices. You had the opportunity to resolve this when I first complained. Instead, the situation got worse.

12 May 2025, 12:02Your latest response again avoids the main issue: I cancelled the policy in early February, and your team confirmed it was officially withdrawn effective 28 February 2025.
You’re now trying to justify ongoing debit orders by claiming I “owe” for February — but that debit was reversed because of your own delay in issuing a cancellation letter. You had no right to continue billing me in March, April, or May, and yet you did — using rotating debit order references to bypass my bank’s stop request.
This behaviour is not only ********* — it borders on systemic debit order abuse. I’ve paid you every month since early 2024 and used the cover once, with a shortfall. That was the last straw.
I’ve now:
Blocked all debits through my bank
Filed a formal complaint with the Ombudsman for Short-term Insurance (OSTI)
Requested confirmation that I’ve been fully removed from your billing system
Instead of trying to recover R1,174 through technicalities, you should apologise for the mess and your employees' incompetence.
