Specialist visits and claims process a ****

Flexicare is a total **** and how they catch you is by not revealing all relevant information upfront with regads to the policy. When taking out the policy it lists specialist visits as part of the benefits, but what they (intentionally) neglect to tell you is that you have to pay for the specialist consultation IN CASH and then submit a claim to them after the consultation, to be reimbursed. But this reimbur*****t comes with a list of terms and conditions, and they will then ultimately get to decide whether to give your money back or not based on their criteria. Then I was told of my specialist consultation (non network because that was the one I had always gone to) which I paid R2200 in cash for, I might only receive back about R550. So actually almost next to nothing of the amount I paid. This where you get almost none of your money refunded does not only apply to non network visits, as Flexicare also says in situations of going to network specialist you can only get UP TO R1300 of your money back, meaning it can be less of that amount, so in essence you keep paying premiums for a service not knowing that when its comes to specialist visits you are so to speak left stranded and treated as a CASH patient, spending YOUR money on consultations, not knowing if u will get any of it back. Then to make matters worse they send you a long list of requirements and details which the specialist must include on the invoice and YOU have to fill in a bank details form and submit a copy of your bank Statements and copy of your ID, with the claim; as if they don't have your banking details on record, mind you, this being the exact same banking details they use month after month to get their debit payments from. So how do you now have to fill in and submit a new form as if they are not already in possession of these details? So in my view these so called requirements are just clever tactics to make it so hard for you as the client to submit a claim to get your money back. The process to claim back your money is way too complicated and daunting with the submission of all these forms and details, that I have now just written off that 2K as a loss. Will defnitely not recommend this plan for anyone who is in need of medical care.

No, Flexicare you have not been in touch with me to address my concerns. In fact after calls with consultants and follow-up emails I am exactly still left with no resolutions to my concerns.

As things stand currently, I had wasted my time engaging with your consultants, and still no action had been taken after these calls.

Your consultants have called me only with me having to voice my issues to them again, and the one consultant said I should respond to the call with her by sending an email with all my documents to *** and additionally, I must inform her whether she must get in contact with the specialist to obtain additional documents. I sent this email as per her instructions and up to this day had no favourable response.

But to my surprise I got a notification that my monthly premium which was initialluly R 1 395 when the policy became active this year on August 1, 2025, will now for NO REASONS PROVIDED, increase to R1 513 from January 1, 2026. Unbelievable!!! So I will actually now be forking out more for a policy I could not make use of for the services as listed included in the benefits.

I have no more words and would strongly advise people to not sign up for this medical policy. I am not interested in speaking to any of your consultants further as each consultant has a different story, don't the consultants take down case notes and file it to the customer's details? Because with every new person calling you, one has to explain the same issue over and over. As I explained before the consultants are quick to call you, without giving you any solutions or resolutions to your problem. So the calls are just a waste of time and the premiums just a waste of money.
