*****, useless and unrealiable service.

Flexicare is useless and quite frankly, dodge.

Since signing up last year in November, I've been unsatisfied with the service from Flexicare.

Firstly, they never delivered the membership cards they promised that were supposed to be delivered within the first month after joining them. I made several inquiries but their consultants lie and say they will be delivered within the next two weeks. Two weeks was 3 months ago.

Secondly, they were very quick to respond when I included additional members to my plan but soooooooo slow to help with anything else. All they know how to do is take money and train their consultants to lie when customers inquire about their services. Flexicare is a ****, quite disappointing, offer poor service and nothing else. I'm surprised it's still in operation. It should be closed down.

Thirdly, they are not recognised within the network of medical aid companies in healthcare centres, optometrists and private hospitals. When I went to get a new pair of spectacles from Spec-Savers at Cresta, they **** and said I hadn't cleared the waiting period of 3 months and said I could only do get them in May. This is a blatant lie because the waiting period was over at the end of March and I went to the optometrist on the 1st of April.

When I called to enquire later in the week, the consultant put me on hold and when she spoke to me again she said they had just experienced load shedding and would call me back. Four days later, I'm still waiting by my phone to receive their help. Still experiencing load shedding hey, Flexicare? How long? Another 3 years?

This company is a *****. Don't waste your money or time or recommend them to anyone looking for medical assistant because they WILL take your money and offer you NO help.

Look elsewhere, don't sign up with Flexicare.

Good day Stembiso,

I’d like to apologise for your experience you have had with Flexicare. I can assure you that we are not a **** but we are new to the market which is why some providers are not fami**** with our name Flexicare. Our partners which also form part of our network providers are Primecure, which is a far more recognisable name. we do encourage all clients to refer to the network provider if the provider is unfami**** with a brand name, keeping in mind there are hundreds of brands in South Africa like Flexicare.
We have a one month waiting period for GP visits and have changed our waiting periods for dentist and optometry visits to 3 months for new clients after the medical schemes act required the change late 2018. All contracts prior to the change had a waiting period of 6 months for optometry and dentistry which is roughly the timeline you are referring to. I’m unsure exactly what your contract stipulates but I am happy to help you so that all timelines can be cleared and your experience at our service providers is that much better.
Please note regarding the card delivery:
The cards are being delivered by SAPO (South Africa Post Office) and we are experiencing a service delivery delay from them, in some cases the card has taken 19 weeks to be delivered which has forced us to make some business decisions to better assist you, the customer. The smart application is free to download and comprises of all your details including a digital card for you to use day or night and have available no matter where you are, it will include your policy documents, certificate and will allow you to update information that need immediate attention.

As a result, we have sent a paper copy of the card with the documentations that we have sent through. Please do let me know if you have not received your documentations and please check in your spam folder as well.
