Good day! I've bought my Fitbit Charge HR in December 2015 and had already issues after 6 months. Luckily, the warranty was still valid and they replaced the watch. Once the new watch arrived, it lasted again for less than a year and had to be replaced due to a software issue. Same happened about two weeks ago after I noticed that I couldn't sync the watch with the app anymore. I tried everything to resolve this issue (again a software problem, error message "V122") with the help of the Fitbit support team but unfortunately they couldn't be of any assistance. I received the following email from them:
QUOTE Thank you for the information provided.
After checking in our system, we can confirm that the pair date of your original Charge HR is 2016-06-30 which is when your warranty starts. With that in mind receiving a replacement does not extend the warrant, but continues it. That said, unfortunately you are out of the 1 year warranty period for South Africa.
We are sorry to inform you that we are unable to move forward with a replacement under warranty for you.
Let us know if you have any further questions and do not hesitate to contact us back.
Sincerely, Peter Ge and the Fitbit Team UNQUOTE
What a joke! I mean are they serious? How do they want me to proceed? Just buy a new one (as if money is laying around for this)? This is the 3rd time in 3years that I had issues with my watch and that it needed to be replaced. It's ridiculous. How can they sell a product that needs to be thrown away once it has a software problem? I didn't do anything on my side to cause this as I didn't damage it or anything. It's unacceptable to refer to the warranty as the problem which occurred with my watch is Fitbit's (software) fault, not mine. This is very bad customer service and I do not accept this as their "solution".
Anyone ideas how to proceed/what to do?
Regards, Rike
