FitBit warning to consumers

I purchased the top of range newly released Fitbit surge watch from Makro in July 2015. 18 months later the USB ****le was not functional and the strap had a bit of wear and tear. Happy that I was out of the 12 month warranty where the whole package would have been replaced (provided that it was in the original packaging)- I wanted to be able to buy a new ****le and pay for a new strap. No can do! - there is absolute no service available in South Africa - The watch cost R4000 at the time- which works out very expensive. How can anyobe sell a product without offering after sales service!

Well - I have had to willingly eat humble pie in this matter. There was a misunderstanding and FitBit have actually replaced my device. I am extremely satisfied- as the functionality is fantastic. I have a medical condition which necessitates me monitoring my pulse at all times- and I have not seen better. Ecstatic to still be a part of the FitBit family!
