Fitbit versa not up to standard

Fitbit versa se, not happy at all!!! The fitbit’s screen went black and did not want to restart! Contacted fitbit support which were not able to resolve the problem, and said due to watch being out of warranty I must buy a new watch. For a product that is just over an year old with no dents or scratch marks ( very good condition), it is unacceptable that you must buy a new unit and that it can not be sent in for repairs.
