Fitbit products only have a very short lifespan

I've had two Fitbit Altas fail on me in 6 weeks. The first was 11 months old when it stopped syncing because the bluetooth failed. It couldn't be repaired so they replaced it.

The replacement was an out-of-box failure - never managed to sync from day one. I tried connecting on 3 different devices, but none of them could see the Fitbit. Because Fitbit support in South Africa is non-existent, I took it back to the retailer. They didn't even want to try repairing it - just gave me a full refund.

So if you're a South African thinking about buying a Fitbit - DON'T!! Save your money (you're probably just going to get it back anyway!) and buy a Garmin instead.
