Fitbit Design Flaw

I've had 3 Fitbit devices - Alta HR, Charge 2, Charge 3. All were problematic to some degree. Now my Charge 3 screen is blank (though the sensors/syncing works) and Fitbit's response is for me to purchase another Fitbit. Googling reveals a lot of people suffer this issue (some of it resolved with a reboot) and others not. The general consensus on the Fitbit Support forums is that these devices do not last longer than 18 months so be warned about spending your money on Fitbits.
