Fitbit compatability

I bought a fitbit charge 2 on take a lot and in the compatability section it only speaks of it being compatable with the android 4.0 version and up. There is no extra note mentioning that even if your android version is correct, it may not be comparable due to your device brand/model that it needs to sync with. Thus I found fitbit and all they could say was sorry but the fitbit website has a list of devices that are compatable. But in my opinion that list should be made aware of when purchasing the device as it makes the consumer think the comparability only requires the specific Android version.
