Fitbit app down more often lately. Can't access it at all

I've had my fitbit versa for a while now. But lately I can't ever connect to the app to sync. Uninstalled the app, its says its down. I've restarted my phone, still can't even log in at all. Its strange because my friend has no problems with her app. Also note that I have checked for updates in my playstore
