FIT24GYM DISSATISFACTION

Sometime in early 2018 ( I do not recall the exact month), while I was at a Shell Filling station in Athlone, Pietermaritzburg, I was approached by a young Indian male, named Hussein who told me about a gym that is built at the Athlone Circle just behind the Shell Garage. He informed of the R199.00 deal that they were offering the first 200 members to join the gym which be opening in June 2018. I was interested given the R900.00 I was paying of which my contract was due to end. I no longer have the contract as a result of the move i have requested FIT24 to advance a copy of same from the call center agents and also the collecting attorneys and they haven't been able to send same.

I demanded to see the gym plan and the architect's impression which was shown to me in a makeshift shack/container they used as an office. I made further enquiries seeing that the contract was 24 months, Hussein and his manager (an adult, well-built, Indian male whom he called to answer my question. The manager his name I think was Shaun ( I cannot recall) assured me that because R199 deal is highly sort after, the contract will be transferable to any new member on their database to take over from me whenever I wished to cancel.

I waited for months and I could see that July had gone passed and no gym was opening, I went to the shack there was no one, I ended up asking the guys who were builders at the mall by the garage and I was informed that the developer of the shopping centre had died. Bear in mind my Virgin Action has lapsed and I found myself an alternative gym. When I went there to cancel my contract due to personal information given to them and no gym being built, I was even more sceptical and the shack/container was gone.

In February,21 2019 I received an SMS stating that the there are delays with the building as I had no other source of contact with FIT24 other than the container I requested to them to cancel my contract, I received 2 sms's February and August ( to which I responded to cancel the contract) or September followed by a debit order sms and a string of phone calls when the debit order bounced. This company has mislead me for a year without a gym which was supposed to resume two months from the introduction date and there was no service rendered to me, no communication except from an sms they generate and debiting my account, A lady from their call called me in 2019 and I requested to speak to someone senior and I was referred to Janine Horne to whom I relayed the story and requested the contract be cancelled based on the fact that I was sold a lie. She acknowledged the receipt of my email, promised to look into the matter, assured me that she understood my frustration but has never gotten back to me. To date I have had 3 or more debt-collecting attorneys calling and I have informed them to refer the matter back to Fit24. My credit record is affected by their incompetence.
