Fit 24 gyms avoid them bad shocking service

I meet with the regional operations manager Jonathan from fit 24 Pietermaritzburg this morning, only to walk out the meeting as I could see how he was just bullying me into thinking the gym had done wrong. 1. My daughter who is 18 just out of school went to sign a contract, and was bul**** into signing a the contract. The contract terms and conditions were never explained to her properly, she wasn’t given the opportunity to read through the contract before signing, she also never received a hard copy of the contract which according to the fit 24 gym regional manager Jonathan, it was emailed to her, to date 8 days later we still do not have a copy of the contract. When after 8 days of being apart of this gym she wanted to cancel she now has been told she must pay 40% of her contract upfront, what happened to cooling off periods which were never explained to her. Where does a student get that kind of money to pay upfront when she is unhappy with the service given in 8 days of her contract. Oh wait I was told by Jonathan that the cooling off period is 5 days in which she should have gone through her contract and then cancel before 5 days is up, how could she do this it she still after 8 days doesn’t have her contract? Surely the consumers protection act should protect a young adult? The manager told me straight to my face several times why am I dealing with the mother and not the child she is an adult. My daughter might be 18 years old and considered an adult but she hasn’t been exposed to the big wide world properly yet to get experience, this was her first ever dealings on her own and look how it’s gone, she is so scared now to sign anything let alone a contract cause of how they bul**** her to get her another member. Oh get this they have over 5000 members and COVID protocols aren’t been followed! Any person can move equipment to use where ever they like, nothing gets sanitised after each person unless like my daughter is so particular she takes her own sanitiser with her to do it herself. Well he was so rude to me and bul**** me, just image how he would have taken my daughter on? Majority of the equipment doesn’t work when I asked why, I was told it’s my daughter who doesn’t know how to use the equipment, I even showed Jonathan the videos on my phone as evidence the equipment is broken. Well I go back to the beginning, she was never shown or taken around the gym on her first day, she had to find her own feet, I find this hard as what would have happened if she got injured while using the equipment incorrectly. When I questioned him again i was told his staff told him she was given an induction day at the gym, 8 days later and my daughter has never been shown around. This is her very first time to any form of a gym. Her and her fiancé joined together and they opted for the debit order to be take off one account, only to be told it has to be two separate debit order on that account, so once again the students must pay more in bank charges cause of there contract. When they first went to view the gym they told the guys they were students but they never were offered the student rates, much higher rates, only when the guy contacted her two days later and found out she had a better offer somewhere else did he now offer her the student package. They advertise no joining fee for the month of January and yet my daughter and her fiancé were charge R200 each joining fee cause they choose to pay there contract monthly over 12 months as they couldn’t afford to pay the full amount upfront. Why are they allowed to advertise false accusations? All they wanted to do was cancel there contracts within a short period ad the staff are horrible there and service is terrible. They staff don’t help new comers, they rather hang out at the coffee shop, chat to mates, sit listening to music and it goes on, when I was there Today I didn’t see one staff member on the floor helping clients while doing a session, plenty staff hovering around at reception trying to hear what was going on with my meeting as we weren’t taken to a close door room, dealt with in the view of public for all to heat, yet another way to bully me!
