****py anniversary thanks to Fishaways and Mr D
This was a super horrible experience. I am recovering from a huge operation and am stock to put house and mainly the couch / bed for 4-6 weeks. As today is my and my husband's anniversary, all I could do was surprise him with a nice meal. A seafood platter came to mind, and that is what I ordered. Although the order didn't take too long, our coleslaw, which forms part of the platter, was not delivered. Upon chatting to the lady that did our delivery, she advised I should phone both the restaurant and Mr D. So my evening started. While hubby was eating on his own, I was frantically trying to get my coleslaw, as what I wanted was the prawns I ordered seperately, and the coleslaw. Or meal was at the gate at 19:36. The Fish Aways number on Google is incorrect. Kanya at Mr D said that they could do nothing as the store was closed already, although I told him our food was picked up after 7, he kept saying the store closed at 7. His manager,....... told him to offer us a R50 discount on our next order, and gave us another number for Fish Aways. When I phoned, they were in fact not closed as yet, and yes, they didn't send the coleslaw. Our delivery lady had to come out again, and bring our coleslaw, which I received according to my call logs, at 20:15
By that time my mood had been spoilt, I had been on the phone constantly for over 30 minutes, the food was cold, and our anniversary ruined. I think our bill was R270, excluding tip, which we gave cash. For 2 people that's not an extremely cheap meal, taken its just take away - at R135pp. Thank you Mr D for keeping saying that there is nothing you can do, but give R50 (you know that money can't replace a lost evening???), and for telling me the restaurant is closed, before even trying to contact them. I, as the customer, had to contact them, and as explained, they were not closed.
Utterly disgusted in the service from both restaurant and service provider.
I'd like to know how you can think bringing the coleslaw later or handing me R50 on a R270 meal will ever make up for this distaster?
I'd also like feedback on who is going to reimburse Lerato for having to drive to our house twice, for something she was not responsible for. I truly hope that the petrol will not be on her account??
Fish Aways, you have lost us as clients for ever. Going into details of the meal, the rice was undercooked, the 2 fried fish overcooked, coleslaw missing in action and calamari totally tasteless.
What an amazing anniversary... not!!!
