Bad Food and unsatisfactory response

On Monday 26 Jan we purchased a meal of a platter and large fish and chips worth R122.80 at Fishaways Colombine Square. The fish in the platter was to be grilled while the fish and chips one was fried. We found upon getting home, that while the fried fish was fine, the grilled one was burnt and oily. The prawns and calamari rings were also burnt and tasted funny, making them inedible. In essence, the only things we could eat in the platter were rice, chips and coleslaw, while the main ingredients we could not eat. I immediately called the store and spoke to the manager Themba who asked if I could come back, to which I said I couldn't as we live 15 km away, but that I would come by when I get a chance in week. I was only able to go on Friday 30th only to be told I could not be compensated as I didn't have the slip with me, even though I had spoken to Themba on Monday and informed him of my problem. Themba called his superior named Simon who also told me there was nothing they could do. So I drove 60 km and paid R122.80 for a meal, and never got to enjoy the main ingredients of the meal.
