Returned my components with Disgusting Disregard. Steer Clear.

Ordered components from Firstshop. Took almost a month to receive them, and they were delivered in 4 separate deliveries. To clarify , when I ordered, everything they stated was in stock.

My spidey sensors were in overdrive, when one delivery came from Tarsus Technology and another delivery came from Rectron?!

I had a DOA CPU and Motherboard. Instead of assisting with a return, they dragged their feet by firstly asking me rudimentary questions, and then asking me to the components to my local IT shop?

At the end of road, they returned the components stating I damaged the motherboard, so the warranty was void. I’d had enough, so I said fine.

They delivered the parts. Before the delivery guy left, I examined the state. For some reason, they slipped the two RAM modules inside the housing. One DIMM was missing any packaging, the other DIMM was in its packaging. I took photos, showed the delivery guy..

Then when I took the CPU out (in a plastic box, no static protection), I noticed the CPU was damaged as well.

I don’t have the energy to get into a fight, so this 1 star is my warning. This was R5k school fees to me. Steer clear.

Thanks for your feedback, and we're really sorry to hear that things didn’t go as smoothly as expected. Just to clarify, your full order was delivered in four batches, with signed proof of delivery for each. Everything was delivered within 5 working days after the order was placed. Regarding the motherboard issue — we understand how frustrating that can be. Unfortunately, the bent CPU pin is a type of damage that typically happens during installation. Since the assembly was done on your side, and not by us, the distributor considered the warranty void, which is standard in these cases. We had suggested taking it to a local IT shop that they can find the component with the issue, but you declinbed this option. About the condition of the parts when they were returned — if you still have the photos you mentioned, please feel free to share them with us. If there was any damage caused on our side, we’ll absolutely make it right. We genuinely value your support and are here if you’d like to chat further or need help in the future.

Thanks Andreas, I have watched and have the vids on record, although, all i see is the RAM, there is nothing showing the damage of the CPU you mentioned in the review.
Please let me know how you would like to proceed.

No need thank you. The point of the video , was put the light on how the components were returned to me. Dropping the RAM (1 x DIMM wasn’t even packaged), inside the housing was something lackluster, and unprofessional. I’m writing to inform, that the DIMM’s weren’t damaged. So, bad experience unfortunately, condescending staff (not you), and ultimately I walked away unhappy. I haven’t been in the PC hardware arena for about 10+ years. Personally, i would recommend your investment in walk in tech support. Please consider this closed. I’m somewhat sad my experience was terrible, as I have bought components in the past. But unfortunately, I wont be shopping at Firstshop again. But I do hope you persevere, and work on these issues. Good Luck!

Hi Andreas, Thank you again for your detailed feedback. We're truly sorry that your experience turned out this way, especially given that you've supported us in the past. It’s clear you put a lot of thought and care into your build, and we regret that the process didn't reflect the standard we aim for.

As an online-only store, we unfortunately don’t have a physical walk-in facility or in-house technicians, which does limit how we can assist with complex return assessments for custom builds. That said, we understand your frustration and take your comments seriously, especially around how the components were returned. Your video helped shed light on where we can improve, and for that, we’re grateful.

We’re sorry to have lost your trust and will continue working to make our service better for every customer. Thank you again for engaging with us, and we wish you all the best on your future builds.
