Poor delivery service that you pay for.
I wish to share my experience regarding a recent order with Firstshop. I requested a specific courier for delivery to my location, as they provide direct service to my town and would have resulted in a two-day earlier delivery. This request was made via email to their support address.
I received a response from Firstshop, stating the order was 'awaiting collection', which I interpreted as confirmation that my request would be honored. However, the subsequent waybill indicated a different courier service was used. This resulted in a two-day delay in receiving my order of laptops, valued at over R30,000.
The items were held in the courier's warehouse for a full day before shipment. This delay negatively impacted my ability to conduct a client presentation, resulting in a financial loss.
While I understand businesses have standard shipping procedures, I am disappointed that my specific request, which would have significantly improved delivery time, was not accommodated. I believe clearer communication and flexibility in shipping options would enhance customer satisfaction. I am sharing this experience to provide a factual account of my interaction with Firstshop's shipping process.
To clarify the timeline: your order was placed at 23:14 on the 2nd of March and processed by our team the following morning. Later that same day, a few hours before handover to the courier, you emailed a request stating, “if possible,” that we use Courier Guy instead. By then, the parcel was already in the dispatch cage, prepped for collection by the allocated courier. The delivery was completed on the 6th of March, from Gauteng to KZN—well within our standard SLA. Expecting a change of courier based on a last-minute, non-binding request, without confirming feasibility beforehand, is simply not realistic. In time-critical situations, it is always advisable to contact us directly before placing an order to confirm what’s possible.
Any business losses you experienced as a result of delays were unfortunately the consequence of assumptions made without proper confirmation. We are an unaffiliated third-party supplier and cannot be held accountable for impacts arising from a lack of planning on your side. To rate our process negatively—multiple times—despite the order being fulfilled exactly as promised and within the SLA guidelines published on our store, gives the impression of an attempt to discredit rather than provide fair feedback.
We welcome constructive input, but we believe it’s important to present the full context for the benefit of others reading this.

To show an example of great deleivery, I ordered something from a store in Cape Town on Sunday evening (April 6th, 2025), and even though they estimated delivery for next week Monday, I actually received it today, April 9th, 2025, at 3:04 PM as signed on the waybill. That's over 1000 kilometers away from me! We're not living in the past. Fistshop is about 400 kilometers from me, and it took five working days to arrive, which they say is within their timeframe, maybe by horseback. However, other companies, big and small, can deliver within two days. I could name several of them that handle both business and personal parcels big and small. If you just read through all the comments, you'll see that one person waited three weeks for their delivery. There's clearly an issue with your delivery system. Instead of trying to get negative delivery reviews removed from HelloPeter, perhaps it would be more productive to look at the root of the problem and find a solution. A good idea might be to order something from your own shop and send it to Kuruman, and then do the same from another online shop to the same address to compare the delivery times. That's what MyBroadband does to test services. Oh, and by the way, I'm not in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), I'm in the North West (NW) province! Could it be that you have the wrong person!?

The rest of the information is accurate and still applies to your order. The mobile number matches the one on your review, which confirms this was indeed your order.
