Inability to assess a faulty product
I can't say there's service when no service is received.
I can't rate a company if a company hasn't justified the rating
I purchased a LED monitor late 2022, it was legitimately not really used. Maybe a total of 30 hours in a space of 5 months.
It started becoming distorted and could no longer see the picture.
I engaged with First Technology / First Shop in mid April. They first needed to confirm if I can send the item in for warranty, thereafter I paid for collection and delivery.
To date I've had to follow up, they've had the item since the 19th April / 20th April.
I followed up on the 9th of May and was told it would take another 10 working days.
So this takes it past a month.
How is it justified or ethical that it takes a month to see if a item is faulty or not. I mean you paid for it, it broke. It's not hard to assess. Especially when it still has all the plastics on the screen, remote etc.
I'm really disappointed that service in South Africa has gotten to a point where businesses no longer care about a consumer and carries on as if it's fine.
Do I get a pro rata credit for the inability to use a product I paid for? Nope Do I get a new product when the initial one is faulty? Nope Do I get customer service less than a month to assess the product? Nope. Do I get a speedy resolution to the matter? Nope
It's just pathetic.
I won't touch First Technology / First Shop again ever.
