BUYER BEWARE
Firstshop customers, BUYER BEWARE!
Having purchased a Mecer 1000w pure siine wave inverter for approx. R7000.00 from Firstshop/Firsttech, the unit malfunctioned after two months.
This is when my nightmare began! I contacted Firstshop and eventually spoke to Odelia, who oversees deliveries/dispatches, I believe.
The lady informed me the inverter would be collected by their courier, once I deposited R330.00 into their account. I duly comp**** and was assured the collection would be asap. Exactly one week later, I was still waiting for courier. Upon calling Firstshop, no apology was offered or why the elusive courier hadn't pitched. However, I was assured another courier would collect the unit, of which, they did the same day I called.
Six days later, I called Firstshop again to enquire how my inverter repair was going. I was simply told that the courier hadn't delivered the unit yet. Apparently, from what I was told, the courier had taken the unit to Cape Town. How? Why?
I now understood that Firstshop staff do not give a damn about customer service. Moreso, as my desperate cell calls to enquire progress were deliberately not answered. Contacting a certain Business manager by the name of Wayne Panaino, whom I eventually managed to get through to, simply informed me that, "he doesn't deal with customers, so deal with Odelia..."
I was now totally convinced I was dealing with inpatients of a Funny Farm.
Now into the third week of unbelievable, unprofessional diabolical waiting, I am still waiting for an update. So Mecer and Firstshop, have much to answer to, I think you will agree?
Both companies are certainly off my shopping list and that of my friends and business associates...
