Never Use www.firstshop.co.za or First Technology

I recently had issues with FirstShop " power by First Technology " . . I bought a laptop from them that was advertised on their website , paid in full using payfast to make sure everything is done from my side.

I was informed on the monday that the laptop is in fact EOL and they can refund my money or find an alternative. The alternative was R 6199.00 (Same Specs) Inc Vat but my client already paid me for a Laptop that I quoted on for that was R 5,499.00 Inc Vat and this laptop is needed urgently due to her previous equipment that was ******. I cant go back to the client requesting more money when she already paid for the first Quoted price. Now I requested the refund and the money will only reflect the next day , so now my client still has to wait a few more days before getting a new laptop thus she cant do her work at all at the moment.

My complaint is that this is the 2nd Time and the Last time I use first shop as I have just been experiencing bad service from day one. The 1st time I used them the item was constantly delayed. I used them again thinking that maybe it was a one time thing but once again First Tech does not fail to disappoint a customer(Good idea for a new slogan). I even called them on Friday to confirm stock and warranty and was assured " If it is advertised there should be stock and it has a 12 Month warranty from the Manufacturer". How do they not have someone to update the webstore and it is part of false advertising if I pay for something and it is physically not possible to get it ?

How are they not more accommodating to their client regarding their mistake ? Rather give a client a laptop at cost as it was your mistake advertising something that is impossible to get. Rather keep you name clean and keep the client happy for future orders. Business 101

Yes the sales person that contacted me was helpful but not the business as I was constantly reminded this is more expensive or we can't go any lower or that the accountants can't transfer funds over the same day. Delaying my resolve in getting a different laptop for my client.

Section 30 of the CPA says this: “A supplier must not advertise any particular goods or services as being available at a specified price in a manner that may result in consumers being misled or deceived (about) the actual availability of those goods or services from that supplier, at that advertised price.

“If a supplier advertises goods as being available at a specified price, and the adverti*****t expressly states a limitation in respect of the availability of those goods, the supplier must make those goods or services available at that price, to the extent of the expressed limits.”

So this is just a warning for any other business or private clients not to use first shop or in general First Technologies except if you want continuous headaches.
