Burglary & *******

In January my colleague and I booked into the First Stop Lodge for one night. On waking the next morning we discovered that we had a burlary the night while we were asleep. On reporting to the management the next morning we were told to report the incident to the police. Both our self phones and monies were taken as well as my e'book. On trying to claim from them for the ****** goods, I received an email after a whole month stating that Sanlam refused to pay the claim as our door was left open. At no time did anybody phone me to verify if the door was left open as stated by the staff of the Lodge. I feel that they do not take the security of their guest seriously as not once did any staff provide any type of support after a very traumatic incident that could have turned out worse .For the record the door was closed and the perimeter of the lodge is surrounded by barbed wire which might suggest an inside job.
