Vultures and ******
On 24 June I was in a car accident at the 14th Avenue/N1 Offramp in Johannesburg. First Help was first on the scene, and I was assisted by Faan. While I was in the ambulance being checked out, I called my insurance and gave the phone to Faan to talk to them. He came back, saying that "everything is sorted", and I just need to sign. Being in shock and much too naive, I signed, and they took my car as the ambulance took me away. A few weeks later I get the bill... a fortune to tow my car FROM RANDBURG TO RANDBURG. Insurance refuses to pay, due to their excessive rates, and they're not an authorised service provider. So Faan **** when he said "everything is fine". When I called First Help, the call-centre lady told me "you should have called back your insurance to check". What kind if person, having just been in an accident, even THINKS of calling BACK the insurance, to check if the towing guys spoke the truth? Her response also just reinforces the fact that their people obviously routinely lie about authorization being received. These people are absolute vultures and ******.
