Unauthorised selling of my timeshare

I own timeshare in a resort managed by First Resorts. A few days after I paid my 2021 levies and about a month before I was going to use my timeshare First Resorts sent me an email advising that they have placed my timeshare up for rental. I was never consulted about this neither did I give my permission for them to do so. This could be considered *****, selling things that does not belong to you. Fortunately their email was not deleted by our mail server and did not land up in my junkmail and it also did not slip pass me when going through my mails. If this happened I would have arrived in Cape Town from Joburg finding someone else occupying the unit that I own.

I requested an explanation from First Resorts as to what made them think they can sell my timeshare without my permission. I never received an answer to this question and definitely not an apology. I reported them to VOCASA who basically just covered for their member.

So if you own timeshare managed by these people just check that they have not sold it to someone else before your leave to go on your holiday.
